Lets be serious, selfies have taken over the web and social media as we know it. Think of the last time you went through the day without seeing a closeup of someone face. How about drone selfies? These are a bit different and much more appealing in our opinion (and creative).
We’ve discovered clever pilots going above and beyond to put their best face forward whether it’s just a few feet, to several hundred feet in the sky! Enjoy these award-winning drone selfies.
1. Sitting around, not a care in the world
Daniel Peckham is a pretty creative guy as you can see from this creative drone shot. Using several shots from his drone and a bit of creative Photoshopping – you can see some camera trickery that is definitely worthy of a top shelf selfie!
2. Catching a nap in the field
It doesn’t get much more relaxing than this. A little breeze, a nice field, a drone…good night. A napping selfie is a winning selfie.
3. Little ol’ me
X marks the spot no matter what size you are. From several hundred feet, we all look like ants. This is a great shot of the pilot against the chilly, white snow. A selfie from wayyyyy up.
4. Winter color pops
This is our favorite drone selfie out there. The simplicity of the pilot just chilling in the snow with the color of the pants and jacket just make the whole image POP! Congrats for such a great shot and an award-winning selfie!
5. Don’t look now, the drones are invading
This is one from our personal collection. Our curious subject is John who takes in a few our our Phantom 2 Vision + as it hovers above on a scorching, Florida day. The shadow adds a nice affect to help the viewer know what in the world John is looking at!
6. Incoming!
This shot speaks for itself. We’re still wondering what this bird thought was happening.
7. Knoll on, humans. Knoll on.
This is a great, human version of ‘knolling’ or organizing things in detailed order. Bravo for bring it to life-size.
8. Just having a few buddies over to party
Timing is the name of the game for this winner. Two sharks just chilling wondering what the pilot is doing on the boat – little did they know they were part of a aerial selfie. Great shot with some of mother nature’s finest creatures.
